The 4th of July celebration lasted

Saturday was the daylong celebration at Huntsman Springs (yes, the family of Jon Huntsman, running for president in 2012), which included a car show complete with Herbie the Luv Bug, a dog jump show, pig racing, BMX racing, a hypnotist show, and an amazing air show overhead. The whole thing was free to the public - a family day for many. We ran into and hung out with many friends there, including the Greens and the Bensons.
Saturday night, the Huntsmans put on an amazing fireworks display. We went to it last year, and it was impressive, but getting out of the parking lot afterwards took almost 2 hours. So this year we opted for a quiet family night at home with a fire and s'mores by the creek. The kids tried to sleep in the wall tent, but as soon as the fireworks began we all walked out across Ski Hill Rd, where we had a wonderful view of the fireworks show without the parking issues!
Sunday morning, I joined Lisa and Sister Mary Beth for part of a walk on Teton Pass. It was fun to get together with some of those who were involved in Lisa and Sister's journey last year (Run Hope Through America). Sunday evening, we enjoyed a relaxing BBQ at the Wilcox's home.
Monday morning was the parade in Victor, and as usual it did not disappoint! Monday afternoon, Corb and Chad enjoyed a mountain bike ride in the Big Hole Mts (Horseshoe Canyon) while Kath and I hung out with the kids at the Greens' house. Monday evening, after a nice family dinner, we set off our own fireworks display on our street. This was the first time we ventured into the world of fireworks at home. We kept it pretty low-key, and we all agree that it's a repeat. By Tuesday, we all needed a big-time down day!!
