Kicking off the Week on the South Fork

Yet another wonderful week here in the Teton Valley!  Connor and Margaret went to TISA (gymnastics) camp on Tuesday and Thursday.  So Corbin had the idea that we should float the South Fork on Tuesday.  Neither Brady nor I have been on that section, so off we went on an adventure.  I'm so glad I finally got to see where Corbin often goes fishing.  Brady and I each took a turn on the oars, to get familiar with how the boat handles in bigger water.  Corb was a great coach and we made good progress.  Corb even got to cast a line a few times.  By the time the fish were rising, we were moving a bit too fast ... so no fish caught, but that is not the measure of our day by any means.  This time for just the three of us was precious.  I'm quite conscious of the fact that things will change drastically for us all this fall, with Brady heading to boarding school ... I savored this day.  We ended it with a stop for ice cream in Swan Valley.

On Wednesday, Brady went to Rexburg with Sue, Lia and a couple of other friends for a celebration of Lia's 13th birthday.  Corb and Connor had a nice day together - baseball, bike shop, hardware store ... all stuff they both thoroughly enjoyed!  I hung out with Margaret and Gabby at the library.  Then we spent the afternoon with water play in the backyard.

On Thursday, while the kids were at camp again, I took advantage of the free morning to take a fitness class with Heather (Shine) and go on a 5 mile run with Susy, who just returned on Wednesday evening.  It was so great to see her and begin to catchup.  Thursday afternoon, Brady and I went shopping for the few remaining items he needs for his TSS camp next week.  We stopped at the Greens for a quick visit - with the agenda of getting Lucie's advice on "must haves" and "unnecessary" packing items for camp (since she went last year!).  After that, we went over to the high school for Brady's first driving practice of the summer.  Just a year older, he's much more confident and capable, learning on our standard transmission Suburu!  Great first practice - and a fun afternoon for the two of us.  We ended the day by shuttling Corbin for a fish on the Teton River, while the kids and I went to Music on Main.  By the end of the night, Margaret headed to the Green's house for a sleepover and Caden came here.  He and Connor slept in the wall tent.

This morning, after an early morning track workout for me (with Susy, Heather and Sharon), Corbin and Chad headed off to fish the South Fork for the day.  Kath and I met at Farmers Market to swap kids back.  Now we're contemplating the rest of the day ... pool? rodeo? or quiet movie night? ... we'll see!
